Highlights from Gene Block’s testimony for the congressional hearing on antisemitism.

Chancellor Gene Block was among three university leaders called to testify on what several House Republicans described as “antisemitic,” “pro-terror,” and “pro-Hamas” encampments on their college campuses. Block was on the receiving end of questioning about several alleged incidents of antisemitism, his decision to remove the encampment through police force, and the April 30th attack on the encampment. Much of the questioning focused on Rutgers President Jonathan Holloway and Northwestern President Michael Schill for their respective decisions to negotiate with protestors, as well as for their use of existing programs for refugee students and faculty in these negotiations and previously established connections with universities abroad in Palestine and Qatar.
